Slow mindful accessible yoga for health benefits

Harness the Joy of Yoga

You’ve heard of the health benefits of yoga and want to harness the associated feeling of wellbeing but you’re overwhelmed by images of inaccessible yoga postures being performed by slim, young women. Fear not! Not all yoga is equal! Slow, mindful yoga is accessible to all who need it.

Images of stronger or fitness style yoga can be off-putting but there is so much more to slow, mindful, sustainable yoga that can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve mobility, support lower back health, improve nervous system resilience and provide tools for when life throws you a curve-ball.

Join my community of yoga participants and find out how (just about) anyone can benefit from yoga and harness this joyful feeling for yourself.

If you’re facing these struggles…

  • Feeling stressed or anxious

  • Experiencing stiffness in joints or muscles

  • Inability to unwind and relax

  • Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep

  • Waking unrefreshed, feeling tried and drained

You know that without action, issues like these will continue to negatively impact your health and quality of life.

Slow Mindful Yoga can help!

HOW WOULD IT FEEL TO…

  • Have greater resiliency and ability to cope by responding rather than reacting when stressful events occur (because they do!)

  • Have greater ability to self-regulate and reduce anxiety

  • Relax at the appropriate time and experience greater awareness of energy levels and how to manage them

  • Experience refreshing sleep and learn tools for those curve-ball events which may impact on sleep

 GOT QUESTIONS?

FIND ANSWERS

  • Slow, mindful yoga is suitable for mature adults, those with health challenges, fatigue, depression, anxiety or chronic pain. The practices also work in a preventative way even if you don’t have any of these issues.

Your fellow class participants may be retired or semi-retired, part-time workers, self-employed or home based workers.

Slow mindful yoga assists you to maintain your fitness through the ageing process, improve mobility, sleep and relaxation in a community with like-minded others.

  • Just 60 to 90 minutes of your busy schedule plus travelling time to live classes or setting-up time for on-line. But…to be honest especially if your package includes recordings, you may find you want to practise at home in-between sessions.

  • A 60 to 90 minute session of slow mindful movements and practices that will induce a sense of calm and improve wellness. Time limited recordings are included as an added resource for you to practise further between sessions or catch up with any you have missed.

  • I very occasionally may use a cover teacher but I prefer to space my classes throughout the year and offering on-line options for inclement weather.

  • Between £7.50 and £10 per class payable per sequence or for a class pass (depending on your chosen class).

  • You will receive an initial welcome email followed by a detailed welcome email, health questionnaire and useful information specific to your chosen class nearer your chosen start date.

  • Early Bird rates and dates for subsequent sequences of classes will be released to existing class attendees first.

  • Classes and workshops are approximately 45, 60, 75 or 90 minutes long as specified under booking.

Classes and workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Classes and workshops must be paid for in full and in advance of the course.

On or after the start date, no refund can be given for your cancellation or non-attendance.

Class bookings are valid for the duration of the course for which they were registered.

There is no transferral of classes from term to term, course to course or person to person.

Classes may be cancelled due to circumstances out of your instructor’s control eg extreme weather conditions, sickness, but refunds will not be given.

All sessions in a series of private sessions must be concluded within 6 months of the first session.

All sessions included in a class pass must be concluded within 8 weeks of the first session.

The Process

HOW BOOKING WORKS

Choose a Class

You'll view the class schedule and select your desired class and start date.

  1.

Book & Pay

You'll then complete the form and pay for your class sequence or class pass.

 2.

Pre-class Prep

We’ll go through pre-class info and checks in preparation for your first class.

 3.

  • When you book classes to improve your wellbeing with me, you will already have chosen your start date. I will be in touch before that date to find out if there are any health issues that you would particularly like my help with or which may affect the safest ways for you to move. I will explain about transport to your chosen venue and let you know of anything you need to bring to classes that are live in-person (eg water to drink and a yoga mat) or offer suggestions on how to organise your home yoga space for on-line sessions.

Your class itself will consist of Yoga, Pilates, Chair Yoga or Yoga for Improved Sleep and will be delivered in a person-centred and trauma informed way with options to work with a version of a movement that feels best and safest to you. Throughout and after the classes, you will be given the opportunity to pause and observe how you feel. Time is allocated for questions and conversation following the class which brings a sense of community to my on-line and in-person classes alike.

I’LL HELP YOU GET YOUR LIFE BACK

I am a British Wheel of Yoga teacher and Stott Pilates certified instructor, and having experienced fatigue and low energy levels myself turned to slow, mindful yoga which focuses on how the postures and practices make you feel (rather than how they look). I found this approach transformational and a refreshing change from strong or fitness yoga. I can help you experience the scientifically proven benefits of slow, mindful yoga and help you get your life, energy and mojo back too!

See you in class!
